Caranglan Wind Farm

Caranglan is located only 10 km (6.2 mi) east of Puncan and Digdig in the province of Nueva Ecija. The area near Carranglan was evaluated because it offered a possible alternative to turbines placed on top of the mountains near the Puncan - Digdig area since access for wind turbines appeared considerable easier. Caranglan is located in the valley that is formed by the Cordillera Central Mountains. Due to time and security constraints, travel to areas further north of Caranglan where the NREL atlas had identified good wind resource areas was not possible.

Aside from a higher frequency of typhoons, the valley area did not receive many low scores. The Caranglan are would not be recommended for further investigation due to the lack of a wind resource.
